Notes:
A CPU processor socket refers to a physical processor connection point in a server. A socket may contain a multi-core and/or hyperthreading processor (CPU). Note that the socket capacity refers to the maximum number of processors that the server can be configured with, not the actual number. Consequently a server can be upgraded with additional processors with no change in subscription.
Refers only to virtualization provided by the Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtualization capability. For IBM POWER systems the number of LPARs that can be configured is 4 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and 25 for Red hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform. For VMWare based virtualization please refer to your local Red Hat sales representative.
